The water begins to rise.

1:40 pm from our back deck and the water continues to rise.

3:00 pm the water seems to recede a little.

The rain gauge registered only 6 inches of rain, almost exactly.

Brother on the way back from his "rescue mission."

Ducks in the street. Alas, I didn't take pics of the fish, crabs, shrimp, turtles and such that swam across our front steps and porch. However after a few days, they disappeared.

6:00 pm, my dad's truck which we moved to the back yard and jacked up, begins to emerge from the receding water. At the peak of the storm, the water covered all but the very top. However, the water was still at this level when we left on Sept. 4th.
